Non Destructive Testing

Non-destructive testing (NDT), where precision and thorough inspections ensure the integrity of components and structures. Our PCN Level 2 inspectors specialize in conducting detailed examinations to detect surface and subsurface discontinuities without causing damage to the materials being tested.

Our comprehensive range of services includes audits, inspections, consultation, certification, and written reports. We understand the importance of thorough inspections, and our experienced inspectors meticulously assess your components or structures to identify any potential flaws or defects.

[MT] Magnetic Particle Inspection

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is one of the powerful NDT techniques we utilise. It is particularly effective for ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and their alloys. By applying ferrous particles, either in dry form or suspended in a wet solution, we can detect surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities. The presence of a flaw causes magnetic flux leakage, which is visualized as indications. Our experts evaluate these indications to determine their nature, cause, and the appropriate course of action.

[VT] Visual Inspection

Visual Inspection (VT) is another widely used method in NDT and is particularly effective for weld quality inspection. It involves visually examining welds to detect surface-breaking defects. Many welding flaws are visible on the surface and can be easily identified through this method. Visual inspection plays a crucial role in in-service inspections, where it may be complemented by other NDT techniques. The examination encompasses various aspects, including fatigue cracks, creep failure, corrosion, erosion, abrasion, mechanical damage, wear and tear, distortion, and poor workmanship.
